VRML is being introduced at EDF so that engineers can visualize 3D models of the new installations during the design process. VRML models are produced on a daily basis from the CAD databases, including various application specific information. OpenWorlds was used to produce a multiplateform VRML browser which could access this information in a more efficient way than with the EAI and another public browser. Additionnaly, using external prototypes, custom geometry nodes and rendering optimizations were easily incorporated into our navigator. OpenWorlds has always been very responsive in providing support and expanding OpenWorlds' functionalities to serve our needs.
